For automation and digitalization of distribution networks Protection-Relays are an intrinsic solution. Digitalization level K4 (nodal automation) with minimum SAIDI only can be realized by self-acting intelligent protection relays which trip a faulty part of the network selectively.

  • Self-Powered relays are especially used in RMUs with circuit breakers where uninterruptable power supply is not necessarily available or does not have the same buffer time like in substations.
  • It also can be used in islanded networks with capability of black starting.
  • The selfpowered Protection Relay type IKI-35_1A is used for protection of distribution transformers and distribution feeders.

The ultra-compact design allows the installation in standard RMU-front panel without need of additional low voltage compartment. It can be installed directly to a low-power tripping coil with max. 24V/0,1Ws or through a mono-stable dry contact to any tripping coil.

 

By digital inputs and outputs and modbus-interface the device also can communicate with upstream and downstream protection in order to block or initiate tripping. The relay is used with conventional CTs ../1A.

For IKI-35_1 CTs are required with the following specification:

  • Ratio: 75/1A, 2.5VA
  • Class 5P10
  • BIL 0,72kV/3kV
  • Ith  25kA/1s acc. IEC 61869
